I am not able to install sp1 in vista, the error it is showing is that sp1 is expired.

Where are you downloading it from - sounds like your downloading a beta version.

Try http://update.microsoft.com for a manual search. Choose Custom to see whats availble for your computer - SP1 shoudl be one of those.
