ok so first I will admit I don't know bery much about computers, I just bought a 22"HP widescreen monitor, my thoughts are maybe to upgrade the video card, I've been warned about cooling problems...power supply..
So I'd like some suggestions as to what video card I can upgrade too w/out changing a whole more in the computer...I don't play games..the Monitor does have vga/cvi imput...the computer itself has been upgraded to 4gb ram...the computer is a Gateway 835GM
any suggestions or links would be appreciated

Are you using the onbaord video or a PCIe card???

If onboard - what do you hope to gain?
What is your budget?

just that I bought a 22"screen...it does run fine..I'd prob a like to run some photo editing software..maybe use 2 screens..I do have 17" gateway monitor from the computer..I am running what came with the computer eccept for the upgrade in memory(4gb) and the upgraded monitor.
the 17"is vga, the 22"is both vga/dvi.
Or should i just leave well enough alone....Money isn't really a problem..but I don't wanta do lots and lots of changes..I may as well a new one if I do that

Guessing that you're using the on-board video...Getting a new video card for the empty PCI E slot probably won't improve the quailty of images too much, but the images will load to the screen much faster. So you'd see an over all system improvment. (depending on the card you get)

Having a second monitor is nice...

The nVidia 8600 GT is a nice $100.00 card...
The 8800 is much faster at two to three times the price.
