Hi guys I often search this forum when ever I have some problems but for once I couldn't find a solution to my problem.

So, I have a Sky broadband wireless router which is made by netgear. The computer in my bedroom is connected to this via an ethernet cable and we have two laptops and an xbox360 connected to the network with wireless. had this setup for at least 6/7 months now and it has worked perfectly.

The problem started yesterday. When turning the the PC on I got the message "There is limited or no connectivity". I then reset the the router,unplugged the cables and restarted the system, still got the error message.

I tried the laptops and the 360 and they worked fine as usual so I dug out one of my old wireless adapters and installed that on the pc. The pc can now connect to the network with wireless but still does not work when connected directly to the router using the ethernet cable. Obviously the wireless adapter is very limited compared to the ethernet conenction so I was wondering if you could providewith me any help.

sorry for the long post and thx in advance

As a first thought, I would try a system restore on this system to see what happens... rolleyes.gif

<Start ->Programs ->Accessories ->System Tools ->System restore>
Select a date just before the problem started.

Let us know how it goes.

when u hooked up the ethernet cable to the router and PC, does the green light "lite up" on the router indicating connection, does it happen on the PC?
hook the computer before the router , see if u get connection!!
Is the PC set up for static or dynamic IP address?
Sounds like a bad ethernet cable or a broken wire in one of the ends

Did you check device manager to see if the nic is OK? Try to ping the router, do an ipconfig and see if you are getting an IP address.

connect to the network using cable then use the gpupdate /force to update the certificate. after that use gpresult command to see if the certificate success send to ur PC.
