Hi everybody,
How do I e mail a picture from my SAF attachments to my Yahoo account? This pic is not on my computer--I do not have a new computer yet. I have decided to purchase one from Office Depot and so it will be a few months yet before I have a computer at home. The computer I am using here at the library has a filter on it that keeps anything from being downloaded and so I cannot (I don't think) put the pic in the My Pictures folder. I haven't tried that yet, I was hoping to e mail it from my SAF attachments. However, that didn't work today. The picture is one of Mama's dog Rascal, who died in December 2006. I made some pictures of him and Little Bit in 2005 on Christmas Eve. I have made a search and the only info I found was a post about using Irfanview to mail a pic, but this will not work--reason being that nothing can be downloaded to this computer. Should I just tell Mama that I can get the pic on her computer and then download Irfanview on her computer. She does not have Irfanview, but she does have another photo editing program and it makes the picture smaller than she would like (I think that it was a thumbnail). She said that she wanted the pic to be rectangular and I dragged the corner so that it would be, but this cost her the file of the pic, so she now doesn't have the pic that she wants, thanks to yours truly. I did not know that dragging a pic would cause it to become an invalid file, but that was what happened. She fortunately does have one pic of Rascal, but not the one she wants. In a word, Heeeeelllllllppppp!!!!! Thanks much! Jeannie

Try right-clicking the image and saving it to your desktop (name it anything you want). Now, open the email program and when you get to the place where you want to insert the image, click on Insert > Picture and select the image. You must have your mail set for HTML mail to have it appear in the body of the mail. If you use text mail, than you can add the image as an attachment.

Thanks for the answer jim. I see I did not make myself clear in the posting of my question. The computer that I am using is one of the library's computers. These computers have filters on them and recently a new filter was added so that most of the pics do not display and you (or I) cannot download anything. At all. I can see my pic of Rascal. Anything with flash or Java will not display. Re the e mail program--I cannot use Outlook Express because the computer guy didn't set it up. I am going to try to send the pic using OE that I just set up. Hope it will go. Will post back results later.

OK. Libraries have a difficult task in trying to keep their systems 'clean', so we can't blame them for filtering so much. As an alternative, you can try right-clicking the image and selecting Properties. If their system will allow it, you will see the link to the image in there, and should be able to highlight it, then copy it and paste it into any email program. The link you're after in this instance is:

Hi jim,I tried what you suggested in your last post. I did find a link. What I found is not the same as the link that you posted for an example. I knew that it wouldn't be. However, what bothers me about this link is that there is the word "index" without the quotes in it. Here is the link: http://www.suggestafix.com/index.php?act=A...ost&id=1714 Will this work just as your example would? Thanks much. Jeannie P.S. I will really be glad to get a new computer at home. JP

OK, if that's the dog you want, then type that link into your email and they will be able to see the pooch. I re-read your initial post and noticed it was your mom's dog Rascal that you were wanting, not Little Bit.

Hi Jim,
I tried sending the link to Mama. As a test, I also sent it to myself. Both of us were able to see the pooch. Mama lost her picture of Rascal and she wanted me to send it to her so that she could print it out. As I said, both she and I could see sweet little Rascal. He and Little Bit were so completely suited to each other I sometimes wondered if they thought that they were brother and sister. They did not behave like a male dog meeting a female. They always played like littermates. Thanks for the help. I am going to send Little Bit to my Yahoo account. How is your weather? Ours is damp, foggy, and cool today. It was damp and cool yesterday. I will be very glad when the sun comes out so I can work in the yard. I have shrubbery that need trimming and the yard soon needs cutting.

Glad you got it sorted out, Jeannie. Weather here is dry at the moment. More rain coming, and everything is so saturated after flooding last week, we don't need more rain. Cool front will drop the temps down to near freezing tonight, too. Brrr!!!
