You need to STOP using the pc.
Even temp internet files can over ride the files.
PC Inspector id a good "data recovery" software that I think will work with Vista....
If and when fixed - develop a backup solution;)

Hi, there are lots of software available on the net but I would like to recommend one of the best data recovery service provider called DiskEmergency. It has many ways to recover your data. You can submit problems online and get the job done quickly. Hope this will help you.

I just started using vista and wow, what a change ... anyhow, did you get your data recovered metalkakkarot?
I'm interested to find out what software you used to do the recovery.
If you have a chance, please post.
Thanks
