Ok like i said my father in law wiped my computer and installed windows xp professional. The product key he gave me was bogus. I'm going to but the windows program in 3 weeks for all my comps at home. any how he wiped my stuff and now i have NO SOUND. If you refer to mike25's problem mine is almost exactly the same only i have a different computer. here is what i know about my comp.

Intel ® pro/100 gt desktop adapter

amd 64 athlon

kingston technology


here is the error message i get when trying to listen to sound
bad direct sound driver. please install proper drivers or select another device in configurations. ERROR CODE 88780078

Sorry for the delay in answering your post. flower.gif

I would suggest you right click on My computer > properties > hardware > device manager > and see if there are any warnings to help you trouble shoot your problem.

I also suggest you browse this site and download and install Sound Card Drivers from your manufacturers website.
