I have created custom colors and combinations for Display Properties (appearance tab). It has an option button to "Save" scheme. This is fine, except I need to save the Scheme to a Floppy.

Re-creating this custom colors desktop from scratch every time after Formatting the hard drive is getting old & tiresome.

I can use the "Save as.." button to enter a Filename and save a Scheme, but it does not offer Browsing to sellect where to save the Data. Or retreive it.

Does anyone know if and/or how to save (Export / Import) a color Scheme on a floppy.

Help..!!

Fred,

Welcome to SAF!

Sorry for the late reply. I haven't used ME in some time, but the scheme will be in one of the Windows system folders. You should be able to Search the Windows directory and all subfolders for the name of the scheme. You should be able to drag-and-drop it to a floppy in Windows Explorer.

Thanks for responding.

I tried searching the entire Hard drive, and I tried it again after your post. The Search comes up with a few similar filenames but not my color file.

Any other ideas??

Maybe it is a glitch. Rename the custom Scheme something else easy to find, like ZZZZZ. Drag and drop should work.

I just tried - Searching " Files & Folders *Containing* " and the Custom color scheme Name was located inside the file "USER.DAT" (Three locations inside that file)

I don't think that file can be successfully drag & drop.

Any suggestions??
