Dear All

I'm trying to set up an elderly C Series Fujitsu Lifebook so that it will function on my wifi network.

The machine is currentlyu operating 98 SE.

I have succesfully installed a plug in wifi card (BT 1060) which is showing a connection to the network and reasonable signal strength etc.

However, on launching IE6 (the only version available on the machine at the moment) it simply doesn't connect - nor does Outlook or Outlook express.

There must be some setting somewhere in Internet Options that I am missing.vid

On this limited information - can anyone offer any clues ? Or ask me some further pertinent questions to narrow things down ?

Best wishes

David

Dear All

For what it's worth - the problem seems to have revolved around the DNS and the creation of an Ip address. Following some further web research - I found a dos command "ipconfig /flushdns" which seemed to do the trick - and then running netstat -n showed that an IP address had been allocated.

I can't claim to understand exactly what I did - but it seemed to work !

Happy Easter !
