I tried to install .Net 1.1, 2.0 and 3.5 - all without success. I have used the cleanup tool but it doesn't help.

When I try to install 1.1, I got the following error log in my event viewer:

Product: Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 -- Error 1406.Could not write value Microsoft.Vsa.Vb.CodeDOMProcessor,Version="7.0.5000.0",PublicKeyToken="b03f5f7f11d50a3a",Culture="neutral",FileVersion="7.10.3052.4" to key \Installer\Assemblies\C:|WINDOWS|Microsoft.NET|Framework|v1.1.4322|Microsoft.Vsa.Vb.CodeDOMProcessor.dll. System error . Verify that you have sufficient access to that key, or contact your support personnel.

I'm on admin account in a stand-alone Windows XP Pro computer. Installing 2.0 and 3.5 gave similar error, stuck at Microsoft.Vsa.Vb.CodeDOMProcessor and said no more files.

Can anyone help?

I tried resetting the permission using the instruction from http://winonline.blogspot.com/2005/11/rese...issions-to.html
but it doesn't help.

Installing .NET Framework 2.0 gave the following error:

Error 25015.Failed to install assembly 'C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\Microsoft.Vsa.Vb.CodeDOMProcessor.dll' because of system error: There are no more files.
