So my wife purchased a bargain mp3 player. I tried to drag and drop songs. No matter how I do it, I get the write protected error message. I even cheated and went to a share ware just to try. (No, I do not normally do thsi) Same thing.
Any clues??

Is the device's drive divided off into folders, or just one big common area?

What file types are you trying to drag into it? I've seen some of them refuse to copy anything other than MP3 (although admittedly the error was different).

Which version of Windows are you using, and do you have a link to any details on the device?

I presume it's a standard USB connection between your PC and the player?
