I updated my FREE AVG antivirus on my laptop last night and all went normally. I went to do the same update on my desktop this morning and it won't update. I went to the Grisoft homepage and it says there is a new version 8 available for free trial. I'm presuming this means it will give you a limited time free trial of AVG but then you have to buy it. I've never had to buy it before.

Is there no FREE version of AVG anymore? If so did this just happen sometime between last night this morning because the laptop updated fine last night.

Suggestions please as I'm now running without any protection on my desktop.

It's working now. Maybe there was just a glitch in the system for a while cause the update finally worked. All up to date again now.

Who can figure these things.

Someone at their company goofed, discovered the glitch and fixed it. Also remember that you are still protected for some time. The update is for the new virii that appear, but most of those are comparatively rare. The most prevalent ones you are still protected against so if you miss one update you are not entirely without protection by any means.

U can use free trial version of AVG. It may which time you want to update the site will be under updation try again, i hope that it will be do
