my son tried to install the linux cd on the computer, susie version and than what it did was and my son quotes "well it installed to the installation screen and took over the partion". but it just doesn't work. and it is so hard for me to explain but it won't work and we can't remove it. at this point i want to remove it have no idea how. it isn't coming up with the bios on the computer and i tried to start the computer up in f8 mode but it doesn't really respond to the keyboard. so if you can tell me how to uninstall it in plain english like you are talking to a child. i know very little about computers. wish i could send you a screen shot but my computer doesn't work. thanks for any help

It is very hard to help when we don't even know what has happened. Linux can never take over the BIOS. Unless it is one of those really old COMPAQ computers where BIOS where on the harddrive.

Or maybe some laptops might have BIOS on the harddrive. What kind of computer is it and what operatingsystem was on it before he installed SuSE?

What do you mean with that it won't work?

Is there still data (documents, images, email etc.) on the computer that you need to save?

Do you have installation media (CDs) for the operating system that was on the computer before SuSE was installed?

F8 is usually for starting Windows in failsafe mode so that wouldn't work...
