Folks, we have purchased Age of Mythology, computer crashed, built a new computer and the ensemble studios doesn't recognize the CD Key. For those who don't know this a microsoft game and that means there is no support and the only hope I have to help my son use the $40 game is to ask within this forum.
Thanks for taking the time

Is this a second-hand game situation, or purchased used over the internet, etc? If so, you may have been given a bad/false key number. If you have any recourse at all, I suggest returning the game.

ranchhand - That's a good question! I should have stated in my problem definition hat we are the original owners. Thank you!

Okay, then if this is the only game or (purchased) software with key numbers that you are having a problem with, the problem is the game. If other things installed with no problem using the key provided, this should also. I would attempt contacting the game creators (well, we can hope, right?) If still no joy, I would challenge the credit card payment. I have done this with other faulty things and it usually works. I immediately write the CC company a letter letting them know this is challenged, and when the manufacturer's product performs as advertised he will immediately be paid. I guarantee that the retailer you purchased from will not take the software back after you have popped the shrink wrap. Maybe they will exchange it?
