I am getting some sound problems, where the game and sound will play fine but then the sound will turn funny. Usually its just a split second, and the game will continue. And other times it will turn for a few seconds. It happens on both multiplayer and single player and only every so often.

I have tested with a PCI network card and a PCI sound card instead of the onboard ones and its the same.

Any ideas what could be causing it?

I've uploaded a sample of the sound so you know exactly what i'm hearing, you may want to turn your speakers down to start with as its quite loud.

I dont think its anything to do with actual game performance, I think its hardware related. Maybe a confliction or something simular.

EDIT: Been playing about for a bit now and turning sound acceleration from Full to Standard solves the problem. What could be causing this? Hardware problem or maybe driver problem I assume?

Also, whats the difference between Full and Standard acceleration?
