I had to format my C:drive several days ago, actually, I didn’t want to do this. My dell pc have been affected due to the virus, and after formatted the disk, my important word files have gone too. I never aware that the lost files can be recovered by a data recovery software until a friend of mine said it to me. I googled with “data recovery”, so many softwares were found: EASEUS Data Recovery Wizard, easy recovery , active, undeleted. I don’t know which is the best one to buy, I don’t have too much money. Somebody recommend EASEUS, I have gone to his website, maybe it is a cost-effective one. Is there any more suggestion before I purchase EASEUS’s.

Welcome to SAF......chris87,

Anytime you format a hard drive, you basically wipe it "clean' of all data. This is why everybody shold back up their data on cd's/dvd's/ flash-drives, or a second hard drive.

Here are some other "Data Recovery Software" links:

EASEUS

Recover My Files

Data Recovery - Zero Assumption Recovery

Hope this info helps, next time, BACKUP YOUR INPOTANT FILES !!!

If you reinstalled your operating system after the reformat, then chances are your files have been overwritten. Data recovery won't help in this case. If you haven't done anything since the format, then the entire drive can be recovered. Acronis makes a good 'undelete' program, but whatever you use would have to be run from a disc, IF there's no operating system installed.

Yes data recovery software are able to find the lost file which has either been deleted by mistake, or system format, viruses, software malfunction and even sabotage. I used Stellar Phoenix Windows data recovery software to recover my lost file and was pleased with the software, the amount of data it has recovered.
You can try this software by downloading the demo version and scan your hard drive with it. If the demo version is able to show you the preview of the recovered data then get the full version to save it.
