I have a tower pc it is a ASRock K7VM2 motherboard on windows xp, amd duran processor 1.60ghz 224mb ram with 2 pci slots ( fastest computer ever).
i understand it is an old board but want to connect it to my existing network i.e 2 laptops in the same house
now i know how to configure my router to both the laptops in the house as i have already done iti.e. wep key etc, and they are working fine
my wireless pci card i have bought for the tower is Airplusxtreme G DWL-G520
My router is the matching D link airplus G DI -524
i dont know weather the pci card is compatable with my old pc as i am not that technical on motherboards, it mentions in the pci adapter card manual , "Make sure that the motherboard is 32bit compatable ? what does that mean ?"
I have installed the drivers combined with the software utility my pc detects the adapter and thats when i start having problems ( pc freezez, wont boot up e.t.c)
So i take the card out of the pc and then pc boots up and works fine as it should
so what could this mean couldit be:
pci card not compatable with board
motherboard to old?
Can anyone help out there who as more technical knowledge than me
cheers
