I don't know if someone may have already posted this or a similar site but it's interesting to see what speed your computer is connecting to the internet and you can compare your ISP to other ISP's around the world too.
Interesting thing about speed tests.... you'll notice that every one is different, since the speed also depends on location and condition of the routers that the data is passing through and the amount of traffic going through them at the time of the test.

Jim that is SO true. It depends on traffic. So before you call your ISP and raise cane, think about it! IMHO. bb

I ran tests on several of the above, and got anywhere from 2231.9 kbps up to 7120.43 kbps. Basically, these tests are useless. If you can browse and download files OK, then it ain't broke.
If its bad/inaccurate then at least I consitantly know the wrong numbers..

We have a satellite connection and are hard wired into a router as well and the guy who came out to fix the satellite dish had to run a speed test. Turns out we had some faulty hardware in the dish but even after that was fixed we weren't getting any upload speed so he "tweaked it up" at the server end and now at least we have something even if a little slow. Still ....anything is better than dialup. We need to run a speed test once in a while just to make sure our ISP is giving us what we pay for.

I get 5333.3 kbps on that one, Steve. It only shows download speed, however. About the best I get on upload is 441 kbps at Frontier in Rochester, NY.
