Have tried uninstalling and letting win reinstall drivers... no good effect. Used Nvidia nforce drivers -- no effect. Device manager adds host controller with an increased number "Nvidia network host controller #4, #5, #6, etc" . I have had this problem once before, but don't remember what the fix was. I recall it was something fairly simple.
network adapter is still not operable. Any ideas.

Just as a test I would use another machine and get any linux "Live" cd ubuntu is a good example. Then boot the machine from CD and it will attempt to allow connectivity to the web. If that works its another microsoft enhancement
