Hi.

I recently moved house, and nwas suing AOL wireless broadband with no problems.

However, when I try to reconnect at my new place, it doesn't work. I've spoken to AOL, who were their usual useless selves.

To check it wasn't an ethernet cable fault, I uninstalled an reinstalled AOL with the normal modem, and it works fine. What I have noticed, is that when I plus the wireless router into the ethernet port on my laptop, the port light does not activate (it's DG834G - Netgear router). It has 4 ports, and four lights on the front (1,2,3 & 4), that should light up when the relvant one is plugged in. It seem that, for some reason, my LAN port on my PC isn't registering the modem, but I've noe changed any settings since moving, so I'm at a loss at what to do.

Any suggestions greatly appreciated!

This is gonna sound bad but, Here goes...... AOL SUCKS get a real ISP.

ok now that I have vented....

Are you pluging into the wan port or into the hub? If when you plug the cable in you dont get a light on the router its probably that you dont have your wired connection enabled or you have a bad cable.

let me know if this helps.

I have to agree on that, I gave them the boot 9 years ago. Unfortunately that is not the issue. When you plug in your cat5 cable from the router to your notebook the link light on both your notebook and router should go on.
