I hope that everyone had a Happy Thanksgiving. My brother, sister-in-law, and their three nieces came from Arkansas on Wednesday night and Emily (the oldest) and Sara (the next youngest) left on Friday for Atlanta. Sara lives in Atlanta. She wanted to stay in Atlanta and finish her senior year in high school there and then go out to Arkansas so Sara lives in Atlanta in an apartment. Emily was returning to the University of Georgia in Athens. She was going to spend the night with Sara and then go on to Athens on Saturday morning. David, Mary, and Beckie stayed at Mama's until Saturday morning. We all had a really nice visit.

We also had a wonderful Thanksgiving, our son had us over for dinner. It's nice when you don't have to cook, I just made the pies.

Hi Lorraine,
This year Mama decided to have our Thanksgiving dinner catered. Everybody missed her dressing, but the dressing that the restaurant provided was very good I thought. We had the traditional turkey and there was also ham, rolls, green beans, dressing and gravy, and cranberry relish. There was also a sweet potato souffle. For dessert, there was pumpkin pie and pecan pie and carrot cake. Beckie (the youngest niece) ate three pieces of carrot cake. She said that carrot cake was her favorite kind of cake.

Glad your dinner was a good one Jeannie. We were planning on going out to eat, but out son decided to stay home this year, and asked us over. I don't cook on Easter or Thanksgiving, so we usually go out to eat.

Hi Lorraine,
We didn't go out, but the food came to us. We ate in the den. I had promised Little Bit that I would bring her some turkey but I forgot. It is just as well. She is like me--she is putting on too much weight. I will have to do something about that starting next year. (so I don't miss the Christmas goodies)
