Full Version: System Freeze After Installation Of Nod 32 Anti Virus

I recently installed Nod 32 Antivirus Plus Smart Security when my system froze during installation. I rebooted the system and it appeared that the program was loaded and operating, however the system would freeze up on any application. I tryed to remove the Nod 32 program but got hung up in the process. So I am only operating in safe mode. I was told that the possible problem may be with Morton SystemWorks Professional that I currently have on the system. I was also told that i need to uninstall the Norton software using the Norton Removal tool to rectify the problem. I tryed that while in the safe mode but a notification advised that Norton Ghost needed to be removed first. How do I remove or uninstall Norton Ghost while in the safe mode since it will not allow me to uninstall Norton in Control Panel - add/remove programs and Windows applications and I cannot perform any tasks outside of the safe mode?

My operating system is Win XP.

Your help would be much appreciated.

Al

Hi Forest,

Go HERE and download and run the Norton Uninstall utility-I hope it works. Norton Symantec is notorious for this, one of the several reasons that I do not use Symantec products anymore. If this does not work, I can only suggest a manual, piece-by-piece removal which is a royal pain. Hope this helps, post back and let us know how it goes.
