Hi,

please assist with troubleshooting the below setup:

Desktop Running XP- Printer connected via usb and desktop connected to router - Kapersky 7.1
Laptop 1 - Running XP Pro - Wireless connection - Norton Symantic Client Firewall
Laptop 2 - Running Vista Prem - Wireless connection - Kapersky 7.1

I bought network magic and have had no joy trying to get the printer share to work. I have also tried manually with no luck. I have checked the below:

1) File and printer sharing is enabled
2) Printer is shared.
3) Net bios is enabled.
4) Ran Network wizard on all pc's. When I goto my network places it only sees the pc which I am on.

I have tried all of the above and ensured that the firewalls were down.

Thanks, Martin confused.gif

I don't know if this is the real solution. But I am running a network in much the same way and my printer sharing works. But I am using Vista on the desktop that is acting as the server. I have not tried using Vista to access the other computer, they access Vista. Other than that I don't know what to say, I would be just as confused as you. smile.gif

Martin,

this is more likely then not going to be that Kapersky isnt configured to allow file/printer sharing
