dual core 2 extreme

two 1 gig kingston gaming RAM
XP PRO

Under heavy load usually soon as 3d engine kicks in upon loading a big game I.E. Call of duty 4 it either reboots right off the bat, or sometimes 20-30 minutes into my gaming session.

I have reloaded all drivers on my system including BIOS update... Used Everest to monitor temps which do rise under stress but not out of controll.

There are no ERRORS anywhere that I can find. System log has nothing, Ati logs has nothing... No memdumps... etc.

Would I be out of my mind to think my PSU is giving up the ghost under heavy load?

Temperature would be the first thing I'd look at. You could try using a program like HD Tune (freeware) to monitor it. It shows the temp in the system tray, down by the clock, when you run it.

whoo hoo!! Purchased a new power supply and all is good now. Enjoyed Call of duty 4 all night last night with no reboots!!

Thanks for your reply HKed but I did look at temp related issues first. Temps did increase but not out of controll.
