ok so my computer crashed about a week ago. i had windows xp on it during the crash. since then i have been using knoppix 3.7 that was given to me by a friend. it works and all but i am very used to windows and due to the knoppix being a cd i am very limited to the things that i need to do and such.

i was wondering if anybody can help me with a problem i have yet to fix.

first off when i put the windows xp pro cd into my drive. it comes up as "Boot windows xp from the cd...(under that saying) No emulation...(and under that saying...) Press any key continue...

i am trying to reformat my computer using a windows xp pro back onto my crashed computer. i proceed and follow every direction that i am told to do. until it gets to 3 options. option 1 - run and install windows xp pro. option 2 - run recovery program. option 3 - pres f3 to quit and to quit windows installer.

so obviously i clicked the first one which is to continue on reformatting my computer. and right away as i click enter to proceed i hear a rumble of some sort coming from inside my computer...same thing happens when i choose option 2...

i am very sick and tired of not knowing what no emulaion means and why it wont follow through after those options...

please help...any advice/help will be greatly appreciated!!
