Hello,
I just finished installing a larger hard drive in my laptop, and have run fdisk and formatted the new C: drive. Everything looks ok.
When I try to run and install the Compaq Quick Restore disc (w/Windows ME), it looks like it is going to work, and then I get ERROR 50.4.
I'm stuck. banghead.gif
Any ideas...?
Alternatively, Is there any way to copy what was on the original drive to the new drive? Easily.
Would appreciate any help anyone can provide.
Regards,
Steve R Jones

Thanks for your reply.
There was no info, just "Error 50-4".

I'm thinking it might be easier to clone the old hard drive to the new hard drive, as I've had this problem before with OEM discs. p.s. i am the network guy - cowboy.gif and he's no help...
