I have a digital picture frame with a 1gb SD card & am trying to organise around 600 pictures into the order that the pictures were taken. I have all the pictures organised on my hard drive but when I copy them all & paste on to the card (using a USB card reader), the pictures transfer in a completely different order

I have tried just transferring 50 at a time..no joy. Tried organising the card, using explorer, into DATE MODIFIED order...no joy

The only way i can do it, is to copy & paste one at a time BUT with over 600 pictures I am going to here until Christmas

Any ideas anybody ?

Well, date modified isn't going to work this time. Maybe what you'll have to do is give each photo a designation....John1, ClassPic2, ClassPic3 Nightime4, and so on.

Do you mean rename every photo ?

What i dont understand, is that if i transfer individually, then they stay in order - do more than one & they go across completely randomly ??

Well, half a dozen of one, six of the other. Do them individually, date modified comes into play. Rename them and you'll never have trouble again.

Thinking about it though, all my pictures have been taken on my Canon Digital camera & are given a unique reference witch goes in numerical order...this is the order I want then organised on my SD card.

SO i transfer them in this 'numerical' order but they still get out of order...bizarre !
