Purchased Lexmark X1240 all-in-one. Want to install on Compaq 1219JP with Japanese Windows ME OS. Opened box read errata sheet that told me Lexmark stopped providing drivers for ME in June 2007. Are ME drivers for this printer available elsewhere? Or does anyone know of a good source for inexpensive all-in-one printers (no brand preference) that are compatible with Windows ME?
Side issue: I may also have an problem with USB ports not being recognized. Any recommendations?

Unfortunately, all you 98 and ME users are going to find soon that your obsolete operating systems are going to be ousted from everything, including the Internet. XP and Vista are so powerful that an enormous amount can be called up from both the operating systems and the websites they will be connecting to. This is reminiscent of the days when 98 could handle frames but 95 couldn't. Until they updated 95 everybody who had it hated the Internet. The same thing is about to happen, but on a much larger, permanent scale. Anything pre-Win2000 is on the way out.
The HP Officejet 5610, 4315, 6310 (a little more, but a nice printer), EPSON Stylus Photo RX580, LEXMARK X7350, X series X8350 all support WinME and are available at Newegg.com. I think the HPs are the best for the buck.
