Hi again Bloody,

I would try to reinstall the motherboard/chipset drivers from the mobo vendor's CD, as Windows generic drivers may not work as expected on all hardware.

First off which 'graphics card do you have?

Is it new? Or a hand me down?

When you put in the card, many of the new ones have a power cable that requires attachment. Without it the card will quickly overheat and do a number of strange things.

What is your Motherboard. Many motherboards require chipset drivers before and in addition to the drivers for the video card.

These are the first rank of questions that come to mind for this issue.
