hi guys, i recently bought a belkin wireless g router for my laptop for school. The laptop already has a wireless network card in it so all i needed was a router. I hooked it up fine, is running, turned off both firewalls on base and laptop. I started to play an online game and noticed lag after every 2-3 mins for abt 10 seconds each time. I got irritated and asked one of my friends and he asked me my battery was plugged in. Noticing this i checked and surprisingly it wasnt and the battery meter was at 5%. I had to log off shortly after that and was just wondering if that should solve everything.. Im basically 6-7 feet away from the base.. it being the room next to mine.. I dont think i should get lag or freeze ups like this .. what do you guys think??

Hey, welcome to SAF.

In my experience, your friend sounds right, I had lag issue running both wireless and high-end games on my poor lappy.

The belkin router should be ok, especially from 7 feet wink.gif

When running from battery, the system will throttle and ration the power output to components, to allow the battery to last as long as possible. So if any component is being throttled to say 80%, the lost 20% is your lag.

In general,I wouldn't recommend running any games on battery, too much of a performance killer.
