I have a flatbed canon scanner with a single button that, through the
software interface (scangear toolbook cs), is programmed to directly
print a copy of the scanned image to my printer. It worked fine until I
installed photoshop, MS publisher, and I added a Zoomcam camera. Now when
I press the button I get a window "Choose Application" that lists all
the "Registered Applications" and I have to select "scangear toolbox
CS" each time, which is a hassle (I have a .GIF screenshot of the window
for you to see if you want it).... How can I configure it so it will not
ask me to select the application each time and just take "Scangear
toolbox CS"; I never want to send a scanned image anywhere but to the
scanner interface. I reinstalled "scangear" but no difference. I removed
Microsoft Publisher and cleaned up the registry using Microsoft's RegClean,
but Microsoft Publisher it still appears in the list of "registered
applications."
