I'm thinking about getting some new headphones. I can't stand the hard-type earbud where you cram a little circle in my ear (I guess my ear canal is too small, because it hurts like hell). I was looking at some of those little buds with the rubber/silicone/some darn synthetic product that resists rotting, earwax, and scurvey; but they tend to get pricey fast (our local exchange is selling JVC marshmallow phones, but the price is a tad outrageous).

So, I'm asking, what would you recommend I cram in my ears? I could probably justify $20-30 on them, maybe more like $50 if they were noise cancelling. Even if I don't fit into the price range, I'd like to see what your suggestions are.
