Hi can anyone help please I am trying to set up my friends computer for her to do emails and internet browsing. I have the email sorted and some web pages but some that I log on to are all mixed up and you cant view the whole page and an error comes up saying script error syntac error or something? How do I fix it so that doesnt happen and she can browse all sites. It is an older computer with windows 98 maybe something is missing??

Hi manda04, welcome to SAF

Some websites have buggy scripts. What may be happening is that you may have an outdated IE version (tell us what version you are using) or an outdated Java version (or both). Flash plugin may also be needed.

Win98SE should work fine using IE 6 SP1, Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 5.0 Update 12, and Adobe Flash Player.

Make sure you have Java permissions enabled on your Internet options.

Let us know how it goes.

Chris
