All RAM modules (sticks) need to be the same. Enter the pertinent specs.
HERE. Note, you don't necessarily need to purchase Crucial RAM, though it is one of the best on the market.
Here is what I bought. It has the processor, 2.26 ghz, and 768 memory. Here is the breakdown on memory: One is a 256MB DDR2 533Mhz TA 32mx64 DIMM PC2-4200 stick and the other is a Corsair 512MB DDR2 533Mhz 64mx64 250DIMM PC2-4200 chip. Both come to 768MB but can be upgraded to 2 - 1GB chips for max load of 2GB ram. There is no hdd, but I just bought a 120 gig. Here is the Mobo:

I gave $108 for this system (case included, everything but the hdd). Did I do ok? My little 7yr old HP has been upgraded as far as it will go. In this new system, I will be putting an ATI All In Wonder tv tuner card, and a dvd burner that are already in my HP.
Thanks!!
