Hi,
I have recently installed a Seagate 160gb ATA disk on my PC which runs on a Mercury 845GV MOBO, Intel 845 chipset. with 768 MB DDR RAM. The older disk is Hitachi 40 GB with a dual boot of Win98 (C:) and WinXP Pro (E:).

After the successful installation - which was very quick and clean - on the new disk (used only for data at the moment - i wil transfer the OSes later), i checked and the disk is working perfectly. Win98 also correctly recognies the FAT32 partitions on both the disks.

Later out of curiosity I ran Ranish Partition Manager. Here the new disk only shows two primary partitions ( for transferring the two OSes later) and shows the rest as unformatted partition space.

I wonder, if I shoudl continue useing the disk as it is or reinstall, fdisk and format it thru PM once again?

Any one has got any ideas on this please?
Thanks
Mytor

Welcome to SAF mytor:
I'd suggest you using only one partition manager (I like P-Magic 7 or 8) and get along with it, you can alwas chg things with PM if you don't like it.
