So I know it's customary to post the good movies, but I just saw a REALLY bad movie that I just had to warn you against. I think I actually lost some brain cells watching it.

If you value your time at all, do not watch 2001 Maniacs with Robert Englund (aka Freddy Krueger from the Nightmare on Elm Street series).

Wow. That was just indescribable.

I see This is a remake of the 1964 film Two Thousand Maniacs! written and directed by Herschell Gordon Lewis. ...
Remakes I've found, from my personal experience, have always lacked in many ways than one from the original. However this one seems to go a step ahead with a naked portrayal of the imaginations of a sick mind... NO, not my kind of a film for the kicks... thumbdown.gif

Battlefield Earth and Gigli! LOL JK I've never actually seen those but they're regarded as two of the biggest piles of poop to come out in the last decade.

Some flicks that I didn't like....
Ghost Rider .... sorry but I'm just sick of the crappy comic book movies that fail to deliver. Nic Cage as Ghost Rider was a bad choice by the casting crew.
Bad Company .... the one with Chris Rock and Anthony Hopkins. I would rather have my body waxed than watch this steaming pile again. Barf.
Empire .... John Leguizamo as a gangbanging drug dealer who trys to get out of the game and connect with a Whiteboy stockbroker for one big score. Yeah, it's as corny as it sounds.
The Italian Job .... Far too predictable for my tastes. Plus, they make Norton look like a gurly gurl and Wahlberg like Rico Suave. Not cool.
A Man Apart .... Please for the love of God DO NOT WATCH THIS!
The Mothman Prophecies .... had a lot of potential but fizzled like an Alka Seltzer. No action or suspense, all fluff. Laura Linney playing a police officer was about as believable as Slyvester Stallone playing anything besides Rocky.
The Mummy Returns .... file this one under "should have never made a sequel to."
Rock Star .... Oh look! Another Mark Wahlberg flick!
Star Wars Episode 1: The Phantom Menace .... Jar Jar Binks and pod races! Um...no.
Spanglish .... One of the very few Adam Sandler movies that was painful to watch. It did have a very sexy Paz Vega in it but her hot looks weren't enough to save the film.

Watch these at your own risk and don't come crying to me if you hate them. laugh.gif banghead.gif pull hair.gif

Tecumseh
IMHO, 98% of all movies made are bad!! thumbdown.gif
Dashwood95
Tecumseh my friend, I couldn't agree more.

Remake eh sun? I didn't know that. I got sucked into it because I like Robert, but man oh man was it a bad script. And the ending? Ugh.

You are right Dashwood95... in India we have the Ramsay Bros doing similar things. But, they are also the pioneers in horror movies in the peninsula.

Not questioning your movie judgment, but I think you should have very low expectations for B-movie straight to video horror films featuring Freddy Kreuger. roflmao.gif

Having being a victim of run over by a bus, yet narrowly surviving to tell this by missing the tyres of the bus and the differential, seeing death in the face, then as a child barely 6 years old, having to witness real life decapitation, people gored to death with swords during the late 1960s naxalite movement in India, being witness to victims run over by trains and busses, in real life, I've already had my share of horrors in real life. Freddy Kreuger, A Nightmare on Elm Street and horror stuff like that no longer make any difference or sense to me... I don't know about others, but yes, anything exaggerated doesn't really appeal me.... But that doesn't mean I would go and stop people from seeing horror stuff. No two people are alike and I believe each individual has a right to his judgements.... smile.gif...

Freddy Kreuger, A Nightmare on Elm Street
This put a stop to all my horror moves I use to watch, I thought it was very sick. The Chainsaw Massacre, or something like that, was another one I wouldn't watch..It seems like after 'A Nightmare on Elm Street' all the horror movies started following suit. It was getting too gory for me, even the science fiction movies, were getting too gory.

Dashwood95
Oooh yeah. I think it was part 5 of the NOES series that was really gory. Not for the faint of heart that's for sure.

donkey, the one thing you don't seem to get about Bmovies, straight to DVD is that some of them ARE well done. They don't try to be something they are not. They are silly sometimes, stupidly funny, scary or whatever, but most times they are actually in some ways more thought out than some of our big budget blockbusters. Sometimes, certainly not always. But most of the time they are good fun. The staff making them know they aren't coming close to Oscar material, but they have fun writing and making it.

Excusing of course the likes of 2001 Maniacs and such, a lot of B movies are fresh ideas unlike 89% of what Hollywood has been churning out lately which is all remakes and sequels that are really just like the first.

So no, low expectations isn't all you should have going into a B movie, but that's not to say they should be too high either.

Well taste are different and that is good. I saw part of Battlefield Earth last night. And want to see the entire movie. I like action/adventure. there are several others you don't care for that AI do. But it is both our right to disagree on movies as well as any other topic.
I try to avoid judging anything but do at my bad moments.
heck life is a fast merrry go round. And if you miss the brass ring it isn't worth the ride sometimes for some people. but being a grunt I enjoy it both ways.
