Hi there,
don,t know if anyone can help, I was at a wedding last week and took some pics with my digital camera, I put the photos on my pc, was able to view them fine, turned on my pc tonight, Im able to click into the folder where they are, usually the thumbnails show the pic when I click into the folder, just the thumbnails without photos, when I click on the pictures there are no images displayed, when I right click on a photo and check properties it still shows the file as being 3.7mb, so they def have,nt been deleted.
what can I do to get them to display
thanks for anybodys help in advance

What format are the images and what program are the pictures supposed to open in? If you need a good program for viewing almost any image format, download and install
IrfanView. It's free, and can't be beat when it comes to handling almost any image/video/audio file.

Hi allymillsy
I don't have an answer for you, but a couple question, in case it is needed for someone else to help you with an answer..
How did you put your photos on the Computer, did you use a third party program?? It almost sounds like you downloaded the thumbnails, instead of the photos...But let us know a little bit more of what you did. And what program are you using to view your photos on your computer??
Also, by any chance, do you still have the photos on your Memory card??

If Irfan won't open them, I wouldn't hold out much hope for a salvage. Even if the format was something different than what's marked (jpeg), if Irfan could open it, it would prompt first with a message that the file is a .xxx file, and would you like to rename it? Then it would open it. I've no idea what has happened to your files, unless one of the programs you used has some kind of encryption to it.
Lorraine, dump your board cookies and start over. The cookie may be 'overloaded' with data and causing all the weird problems you're having. Also, make sure your TIFs are cleared out frequently.

there is a program called "easy photo recovery" that might get the missing photos from the camera memory card. i've used it with good but not perfect success.
http://www.easyphotorecovery.com/also run a virus scan.
