I hope this is the right place to ask... Anways, I have a question... I have a really noisy DVD. I don't care when I'm installing stuff. But when I'm playing a DVD for viewing a movie or such it is too noisy. Is there a possible way to temporarily slow the read speed to 1x?
It is buffering the movie, which is fine... but then it doesn't slow back down to 1x after the buffer is filled. It doesn't seem to make a difference, what kind of media player is being used. I think it always run at max speed.
If it helps any, I have an NEC DVD_RW ND-3550A

heheh, thanks. I'm surprised there is no manual way. I managed to find a 30 day trial software that slowed that loud beast down.

Well, Nero CD speed is indefinitely free. Yay. It did the trick. Now my movies are quiet.
