I have had SpySweeper for 11 months now and am going to be removing it in March when my subscription expires.
I have purchased a boxed retail 2007 version of Spyware Doctor and will be installing this.
My questions are:
1. "How much hassle can I expect from SpySweeper during the removal process?"
2. "Are there any special tricks I should know about to get rid of it completely?"
3. "Is SS the obnoxious ["never go away"] program that Norton AV is?"
I am very concerned about a total clean removal of SS and will appreciate all information that anyone may be able to provide.
Thanks much, Mrs. B

You lasted a lot longer than I did. I only kept 1-2 weeks before deciding I wanted off. I removed from the Add/Remove program through the control panel and had no trouble. I have seen no traces of it since, and a complete search of the system reveals nothing. I did not search the registerery, but I have not had any trouble.

I have had S.S. on 3 machines now and haven't had any problems with it. Best Buy puts it on for free or hides the charges so I think it is free. Set it up right and it should work. I prefer one utility to do it's job. Not do 6 or more things. Like my Trend Micro PC-cillin 2006 Internet Security. But I must say it does it's job and no problems with all my other programs.
Just IMHO.
I to would drop one utility for another if it was a proven better utility. $ don't count (for a newer improved) much if your trying to protect a $2,000.00 investment.

Thanks guys - I appreciate your input!
Kenneth, sounds like your uninstall was a "piece of cake". Good for you! I hope I'm as fortunate!

But like Mrs. Bond I plan on dropping Spysweeper (it is a pain with it's pop ups) and renew Counter Spy.
So Mrs. Bond how did it go with the uninsatll?

Don't know - haven't done it yet - my SpySweeper doesn't expire until mid-March.

I have about 6 days till Spy Sweeper expires. Any opinions about dropping it or keeping it?
