banghead.gif ok, hello everyone i need some help today as im stuck at this point, here goes

im trying to reset my brothers pc, he has a GIGABYTE BOARD CALLED GA-7VAXP.ULTRA, hes got it set up as a raid system. now we have taken the HDD out and replaced them with a new one, we formatted it too, and when we reboot we get the POST screen come up, then another black scren comes up saying this Detecting / then it says cant load bios because cant detect any hard drives, then under that, press f4 to go to raid utlitys we tried that but nothing happens, we checked the cmos for the settings and we can see theres a hard drive there, and the boot option we have it as in the manual , my brothes options was raid, sata, scusi, so we done scusi, then floppy, then cdron, then hhd-0 as it says,
we have windows on and it works but the screen after the post is a pain in the butt, can someone please help what setting do we need? its a hard drive (ide) can it be on the motherboard or bios settings not cmos, if anyone knows about how to turn this raid system back to a normal 1 hard drive pc please let me know, thankyou hope to hear from you soon chris confused.gif confused.gif

If you're using a regular PATA IDE drive in place of the RAID drives, then turn off the RAID in the BIOS. Set your boot sequence to Floppy, CD-ROM, HDD-0, if this is the recognized drive designation. You don't have SCSI installed. If you're using a SATA IDE drive, then set the RAID, SATA, SCSI option to SATA. Otherwise, Disable this.

Most all BIOSes are different. I'm not familiar with the one you have. If you have the motherboard manual, that will explain it. If you don't have it, go to the manufacturer's site and download a copy of it.
