Good idea.

Fabrice (Garfield) and his wife kathy just boarded (15 minutes ago) to Paris, via Madrid. They will stay for some days to visit Paris and Priscilla, who is there, before heading to London, where they will stay for some months, maybe a whole year.

What a wonderful experience for them. I know how hard it is to have your children leave, Chris. After my oldest daughter got married and moved to Washington from California I was very sad for about a year. If I remember correctly it's around 1500 miles. I was happy though because I knew she had a good husband that was treating her very well and that she was very happy.
Thanks again, Lorraine, this is very nice!

Marcia, what a beautiful picture of your daughter

You should start a topic for your family pictures, and I can pinned them in the Topic.."Show & Tell Pictures And Where Do You Live?" I know you have a couple more here that you can add.
Chris, don't forget to add yours to your family pictures. That's a good picture of them both.
Don't worry chrisjea, they will be back. Now you have a place you both can go and visit, I know it's not the same thing, but it will help.

Chris, that is a nice picture. Is Fabrice your son or son-in-law? Who is Priscilla? Marcia, that's a nice picture of your daughter. I agree with Lorraine. Both you and Chris should start a topic for your family pictures.

Hi Lorraine! I have made contact with a Trading Assistant from eBay via e mail. He has sent me his phone numbers (cell and office). I will have to wait to get my supplies before I can make anything to sell. I will order them this month. I had planned to list the colors that I could make the necklaces in and state in the description that they were made to order, but I see that the auction sites won't allow that. They want the merchandise already made which is reasonable. This is one argument in favor of my having a website. I could list them like that and take orders for the different color combinations and then after I had the orders I would make up the necklaces and ship them out. I haven't completely ruled out a website. My idea in going to auction sites was that I wasn't known and these auction sites were and therefore I would sell more there than on my own site. However, I wonder if that's the case there's so much on these auction sites. Any thoughts on this?
LF from MC
Jan 29 2007, 09:47 AM
Jeannie, I think it's more of ..How many more people will see your necklaces on the Auction, then on your website. I think a lot of the people buying on the Auction sites don't know who there buying from.
It's hard for me to say, because I haven done anything like this, but for me to try and get my necklaces sold, I would use the Auction for now, to see how it goes, and then go from there. Who knows, you might do pretty good there.
As for colors, pick colors, that most people might like, and don't use colors, that people can't match with their clothing. If they like your necklaces, they can get in contact with you to see if you can make them in other colors.
Ironbender
Jan 29 2007, 11:20 AM
Or you can do slightly better... why not making a set of, say, 6 or 7 necklaces on different colors and sell it as a lot (one for each day of the week) ? You can post a picture of the 6 units together and say on the description field something like "other colors/quantities available".

Also, Lorraine is right, auction sites like eBay will give more sight on your product for now, as they are visited by millions of people.

Some lives go on as usual other start again in a different direction. It's how we decide and the path we chose that allows growth and depth of meaning.
Sorry I mean no disrespect. I lose my wife this Superbowl Sunday coming a year ago. So what others feel a lot here has also felt the same. And your right this is just possibly the best way forum to get it out. Or just chat back

LF from MC
Jan 29 2007, 07:00 PM
Webster, you would need a new Forum, to have the different games in there, like this forum "Members' Lounge" The games can't go in one folder, it wouldn't work. I had thought a while back about pinning them at the top, like I had Wheel of Fortune, but there are about five to six games, and I would have to unpinned all I have up top. I thought, being the games are played just about every day, they won't get lost, but what I have at the top, will slide down to the next page or so. In fact I have one too many pinned at the top as it is, but Shhhh!!! don't say anything.

Lorraine....doesn't this board have the ablity to have a subforum? A forum within a forum? Or, if you think it would be busy enough they could create another forum. Dashie had her own forum that Wes created for her. What about changing the Music forum to be Games and Music. There are many ways to go about doing it, it's just whether or the mods and admins want to physically change the board around very much. I don't know of all the ways there are to do it, but I know there are probably ways I haven't thought of.

50 oC is 122 oF Jeannie.

You need to wash them well before and sort out any floating or bad looking bean, then let them soak one hour in water starting at 122~125 oF (no need to maintain the water temp. though).
On step 2 - Don't fry the garlic too much. Add the fresh bacon when the garlic just starts being gold and also don't let it fry, just blank it, or its grease will melt off. (some people here also add a sliced onion but I prefer just garlic).
On step 3 - Don't add too much water on the pressure cooker, max. three inches above the drained beans is a good measure.
Hope you'll enjoy.

Interesting tip sunaabh... but this means that I'll have to fry the garlic/bacon separatedly...

When we have no much time, we just put the beans sooner in the water and let the pressure cook ready with garlic, bacon, butter, virgin olive oil and soya oil, so it takes only 30 minutes to finish when we need to.

The whole process isn't too long though, I started this one at 9h00 this morning, it was ready to eat at 10h30, and I had nothing to do from 9 to 10 am.
The whole thing showing in the pics will last four~five days (my wife makes the portions and stores them into the freezer, so she only needs to pick one portion at night and let it out for the next lunch).
Next time I'll do the same with black beans. I use to put more bacon and dried sausage in, so it tastes a little more like our traditional "feijoada".

Hi everybody,
I'd like to add to what Webster said about the font. I pick one from the drop down box and then choose the bold and italic and my color and begin typing but just as soon as I begin typing the font switches back to Arial. It does remain the size I picked however. I do get no line breaks unless I double space. Maybe this is what happened with Webster without his realizing it? Chris, thanks for the info on the receipe. I will certainly try that. I was going through my topics last week and accidentally unsubscribed from this one but I have that all fixed now.

The inside is in need of dusting and a vacumm job, which is done more offen that the other. It's winter and as long as the city hasn't used salt it is ok. Main thing the winshield is clean inside and out and the head lamps cleaned off.
