Hi,
Welcome to SAF. I don't understand what you refer to when you ask "Does anyone know how to get this back?" What is "this?" We need more information. Please post back.

The topic title, Jeannie - 'Hibernate on Shutdown options'. I know this is controlled in Control Panel>Power Options>Hibernate - to enable Hibernation (be sure your drive has enough free space to support Hibernation), and in the Advanced tab, where you can tell it to Hibernate on Shutdown, but this is in XP. I don't recall if it's the same in ME.

Hi tomssaf,
If no joy enabling hibernation via Power Options in Control Panel, you might want to check for hardware problems (usually related to device drivers) that are interfering with the Hibernate option.....look in the C:\Windows folder for a file named NOHIBER.txt Open this file in Notepad and see if there is reference to a problem device or driver.

That or check (by right clicking the MY Computer Icon on desktop or in the Start Menu/properties/system restore tab/settings) and see if your allowing enough space to create more system restore points than you presently do. Just move the slider bar all the way to the right for the maximum allowable.

skysoldier, I think you are giving instructions for XP nor ME.
Also, in ME, there is no slider (which only cntrols system restore anyway, not Hibernation.
Any other suggestions how to get back Hibernation on the shutdown options on windowsME?[color=#000000]

Did you try the suggestions put forth by jimholly and myself?

Qote>>.Control Panel>Power Options>Hibernate
Hibernate has also disappeared from power options when this happened.
If we had a system restore point, it would have brought it back.
Doesn't system restore but back the hibernation setting in the registry? If so why is there no registry hack to put it back manually? Thanks
