I get a few (mostly) security newsletters and have not to date found a topic for these. Most people miss a heck of a lot by not getting FREE newsletters. I understand as I sometimes don't read them all. We are a nation of very busy people. We need 30 hours in a 24 hour day. But heck most of us would use the extra 6 hours sleeping or in front of the screens. lol
So if it is alright I shall post them here unless the management would like to create a topic area or point out if I have missed the topic area myself.
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/thankyo...;displayLang=en Syn Toy and other D/L and info for M$ users.
http://www.firstgov.gov/ probably the best newsletter out there. Got any question or time on your hands this is the place.
U can choose your own M$ newsletters right here..

Man, that http://www.firstgov.gov/ is full of info, isn't it? Thanks.

As you say, there is a wealth of great newsletters out there on the Web, but most of us are just far too busy to do them real justice.

To say nothing of the spam lists you inevitably end up on as well sad.gif, heck, if I wasn't ruthless on my spam and junkmail I wouldn't have any time for the legit stuff!

But one which I get is the SpywareInfo Weekly, actually it isn't weekly these days as the man who heads it up is also excessively busy, but he usually has something worthwhile. You can read it online if you prefer not to receive it by e-mail.

Your welcome ken...
Angoid, I wasn't insulting anyone. It is true a computer sure hasn't saved me a dime or any time! What about you?
And there are many like Spyware Weekly (by the way I get it too) that hold important ideas, info.
I was suggesting a topic area for Newsletters so someone doesn't have to subscribe if they read them here! I hope my meaning gets the attention of others as well as the two of you?
Heck I hardly read all I get. And I love the langa Plus list yet find I put it in the folder unread more than I read it. Shame on me.
And any M$ OS user that doesn't get several of the more important security newsletters is foolish IMHO!
If I was king I would require every buyer of a PC to take security lessons beyond the basic. Heck how many even know how to set the utilities and AV up?

http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/newsletters/default.mspx Click on the Protecting files during System Restore. Seems NOT all files are protected as M$ tells us in the System Restore info!. Another reason why some PC act up quicker than others! These are e-mails in my yahoo.com so I have to click a link and then copy and paste it in after it is on a M$ link so any M$ link that allows you to subscribe then do so as I am only posting a portion of the info at hand.
Want a look at Windoze Media Player 11. looks good to me. But that is just IMHO.http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/player/11/default.aspx
And they always have a tip.. Todays: Featured tip

Open several programs at once
You need to launch several programs at the same time. You could go to the All Programs menu three different times to launch the three programs, but try this instead:

1. Click the Start menu and point to All Programs.
2. When the menu opens, press and hold the Shift key and browse the menu, clicking the icons of the programs that you want to open. Each program launches without closing the All Programs menu.

Sorry Skysoldier, only just seen this.

I wasn't trying to insult you or anyone, just making the point that one gets inundated with so much these days that you cannot keep up with everything.

Currently, I'm taking stock of the forums and other sites I'm on .... so far, I think I've indentified some 25 forums, only a handful of which I actually visit these days due to lack of time!
skysoldier
Sorry I already had suggested that we the users have not the time the PC promised to free up for us. Plus the other many demands on each from daily life. So I misunderstood. It is cool. We agree 2 agree in different manners. loooool
I just think the board could use a topic for newsletters and just put some of those that I get with links to the Internet here till I am told to stop.

http://www.microsoft.com/technet/sysinternals/default.mspx Seems M$ is buying up the competition
