I splitted your post to this new thread, as posting on someone else's topic may confuse our members and cause your question to be overlooked.
You don't need any floppy to free disk space, just delete the files you don't want anymore using Windows Explorer. Take care not to delete system or critical files.
As a first tought, I would suggest you to download and run CrapCleaner from http://www.ccleaner.com/
Note: in CCleaner: go to <options/advanced> Uncheck "Only delete files in Windows Temp folders older than 48 hours"). This will wipe all your temp files and free some disk space.

The only way to free up space on 3GBto make it 8GB, is to do what Ironbender said, or buy another Hard Drive.
You can put some files on CD, and that might help some.

Sorry, but if your hard disk (physical) capacity is only 3 Gb, it's impossible to raise this to 8 Gb. You'd better buy another hard disk...

But to the point you can't enlarge a HD but you can do several thing s to reclaim the HD space.
Google Dust Buster XP or for all other systems plain Dustbuster. I got it from a Itialian site years ago and it got 800 MB of space back for my father in laws old time PC.
You could search foe some thing like WebRoots Window Washer and maybe even a free registry cleaner. And the best a MRU Blaster I think at Java Cools site. See a PC is always making logs/reports etc. And with 3 GBs one has to clean house weekly..
