computers:

1 clone - WINXP PRO
1 Dell Demnsion 2400 WINXP PRO

Print Server:

PPSX1 (single Port)

Printer:

HP Deskjet 5650

Router:

Linksys WRT54G (No speedboost extreme or whatever..)

I've tried everything.. I've got both PC's set up on FOWL workgroup. Print server is set up the same via "DUI" or something in it's web-based app. everything enabled for it. It's named FOWLERPRINT.

Dell can see the workgroup but gets access permission denied error. Turned off all firewalls (windows, router, zonealarm, etc.)

Clone can see the print server but not the printer..

I just want to basically set the router back to factory, the print server back to factory, and make everything work. Anyone up to the task of helping me go from there?

Any more info needed, please don't hesistate to ask. I will give best to my knowledge.

It's late, I'll check back in the morning.

Have you made sure that everything is running the same protocol (usually TCP/IP these days)?

Does the PPSX1 printer server support windows printing or does it need a device driver? A suprising number of mini print servers still need drivers on every client PC.

If the server does need a device driver you have two options:

Either install the software on every PC or...

Look up how to configure for Linux and you should find settings for LP/LPD printing. Windows XP has LP support built in.
