Hay guys i wonder if you can help me? I have a small office with 2 pc'c connected to a wireless NETGEAR WTG624 v2 router. Untill today both pcs have been running fine via wired cables, but all of a sudden, 1 pc that is connected to port 2 on router is unable to get onto the network anymore. It says a network cable is unplugged. But i have tried diffrent cables, checked the settings, tried updating the driver, done a system restore etc. But still the light on the router is flashing. The weird thing also is that when the pc is powered off the light still flashes. I've tried multiple ports but the same thing is happening. The other pc is working fine also without a glitch.

Do you think the onboard LAN has broken down??

Any suggestions will be well appreciated.

Hi Gr8Ba55, welcome to SAF

It is possible that your onboard lan has gone. Check if there are no bent leads on the lan connector (use a flashlight and make sure there are no damaged, bent or touching each-other)

Also, take a look at this MS article: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/910389

Well, one of my systems (just one) flashes on the hub, even if disconnected (unpowered). I really don't know what's happening there... rolleyes.gif

I've noticed that onboard ports on ATX systems remain powered all the time. Also the USB 5v supply stays up. I think the motherboards support Wake-on-LAN as standard, even though I've never seen instructions on how to switch one on remotely.

Maybe it's so the government can scan your hard drive even when you've left it switched off.
