Help:

I have a 812C printer by HP that is not ready to get junked. I just got a new 6000 laptop from Dell and it does not have a parallel printer port, but has a usb port. I saw a usb to db25 parallel adapter cable , and I think that might work-anyone know for sure? Thanks-

These converters are designed to do just what you're wanting to do.

FWIW that printer appears to support USB, have a good look at the back just in case.

Adapter cables should work on almost all printers.

Multifunction devices probably won't work or you'll only be able to print not scan or fax. "GDI" printers are unlikely to work but I don't think anyone still sells those.
