Hi dont know if anyone can help a friend of mine runs a club and has a digital jukebox. When the company upgrades the music they throw away the disks I have tried to play them on my computer using musicmatch jukebox & windows media player but all i get is a strange sound. It says they are mp3 files any suggestions yours sincerely Reg beatsme.gif

Hello Reg...open My Computer and click on Tools, then Folder Options. Click on the File Type tab and scroll down to MP3. Highlight MP3 by clicking on it and look at the Details for 'MP3' extension below. Let us know what program is asociated with playing MP3 files.

Hi yes have checked and it says musicmatch for mp3 files yours Reg

If all other MP3 files play OK in MusicMatch, I'd say the problem lies with format of the files on the CD's. The encoding of the MP3 files may be specific to the digital jukebox and may need special software to play. If what you hear is white noise, it's likely that they have been coded to prevent copying. I've had that happen with some MP3's I downloaded - the copy protection results in white noise (like a radio not tuned to any station).
