Hello all. I have just bought a Belkin Wireless G USB Network Adapter (F5D7050uk) and am trying to connect it to a 3COM 3CRWDR100A-72 router.

I have installed the Belkin on my other desktop but have had absolutely no success in getting the adapter up and running and communicationg with the router. The adapter does pick my router up but thats about it. I think I might be missing something like the WEP encryption. I just don;t know how to locate it from my routers setting. I am 64 bit encrption for my router but how to do I know what the key is as I cannot rember what it is. I think this is what I may be mising or unless there is something else.

You help will be greatly appreciated as my sister needs to use the wireless connection for her university work. Thanks.

If you dont have the encryption key then you will be able to see the router but when you try to connect it should ask for a password. If the password is invalid it will sit there trying to get an ip address from your router, which wont happen.

To get the encryption key you need to log into your router look under wireless security (or similar) and it should be listed it will look sumthing like:
CCE51 .....etc

Thanx

This may be the breakthrough I am looking for. I will try it.

Here are some instructions on your router - but beware! It's in PDF format.

Go to page 43 and read from there .... that tells you how to configure the wireless settings, including the encryption.
