Hi -

I'm running WinXp pro with a cable moden (Toshiba PCX2200) and using a D-Link WBR-1310 wireless router. I have a laptop with a Belkin wireless card in the side. (NOT integrated into the laptop).

"Sometimes" it works fine. Other times it won't find the signal at all. Sometimes if I disable my PC-Cillen totally, it will then find the signal and work great. Other times I do NOT have to disable PC-Cillen.

"Sometimes" like today, I can't get ANYTHING. I get NO connection. I try restart the laptop, restart, reboot the main system. Reset the modem, reset the wireless router. Unplugged both, let them sit, restart, reset... still nothing.

Main system works fine. Laptop when plugged in direct works fine. Wireless just doesn't work. I've tried "repair" connection... no go.

Could this be a problem with the 35 dollar Belkin wireless card????????????????????

Modem, router seem to be working fine.

Please advise.

thank you!

Check your PC-Cilin protection shield... it is possible that some setting is messing up the whole system... also, I would suggest you to take a look at your running services... some are not necessary and known to create problems. <Start/Run> type services.msc into the box and hit enter.

Unfortunately, I couldn't find any article regarding this, but you may take a look here to see if it helps: http://www.techtree.com/techtree/jsp/artic...0112&cat_id=584

When you reboot your cable modem, do it in sequence: First power-down (unplug) the router. Next power-down (unplug) the modem. Let it sit for 60 seconds. Then first power up the modem, wait until the thing settles down, then plug in the router. Sorry if you know this already, but we have to cover all the bases.

Also, make sure that DHCP is enabled in your D-Link setup page, not static IP. I also will mention that D-Link has superb toll-free support on their products, don't be shy about using it. I really like that company.
