Do you have any Cacti or Succulents?
I do.
My Barrel Cactus.
This is about 2 days after I replanted them they look healthier now about 2 weeks on.
On the left is the Echinocactus grusonii "Golden Barrel Cactus" and the other I'm not sure yet of the name of it.

This one is a Golden Jade Tree (Crassula ovata ‘Sunset’) , now replanted into a new pot but these pictures on this page are recent.

Hi Zenith....when I lived in California I had a number of cacti and succulent plants. Even a catus orchid that I would have to look up it's name to tell you what it was. It would bloom around May every year and the blooms were large and beautiful. I only have a few now here in Kansas. My parents had some jade plant that they planted along the edge of their driveway. It grew about as tall as me. I am 5' 7". Imagine 50 ft of that stuff that tall. I used to go in and cut it down for them. It grew like a weed there in California. It made a great privacy fence from the traffic on the street. When I was a child I used to call it a pickle bush because it reminded me of sliced pickles. lol.gif

I added a section on it to My Picture's on my site smile.gif

Here is a link to the Epiphyllum (orchid catus ) like I had. The first two pictures on this page are the same color bloom mine was. I do have a picture of my Christmas Catus I can post. I will look for it. I will also take pictures of the catus I have now and post them later. I don't have any pics of the catus I had in California.

Is that a Prickly Pear, Chris? My mom's neigbors had that growing along the fence along the road and Mexicans would come by and cut off the fruit and make jam from it. Another one that grows like a weed in California.

It looks very similar at first sight, but it doesn't produce fruits. Its flowers 'blow' and leave only the empty green cups which fall some days after.

I have a small aloe plant.

Hi Zenith...I will try and take some pictures of my other cacti today and post them. One of them is a Golden Star Catus, I have a Barrel Cactus similar to yours, an Old Man Catus and the other two I am not sure what their names are. All but one of them is planted in a container together and are outside. I have one in the house that I have had for about two years and it has gone from 1 1/2 ft tall to about 3 ft tall in that time. I will try to find out what it's name is.

I have several of these silver dollars in the back yard of my apartment... it nailed the cat on his nose the first time the two were introduced.
I also have a Santa Rita, but it seems to be dooing poorly. Honestly, I don't care for it, so unless the landlord wants it to live, I'm going to let it wither away. It's probably from the ants anyway.
